My First Paid YouTube Sponsorship: Going Back to Quo

My first paid YouTube promotion was sponsored by Quo, formerly known as OpenPhone, and honestly, I couldn't have asked for a better first partnership. Not because it was my first sponsorship, but because this is a product I was already using in my business.

When I launched The Genius Code, I trusted OpenPhone for my business phone line. I wanted a professional number that I could manage from my own phone without carrying around a separate device just for business.

It quickly became one of my favorite business tools. Then The Genius Code had to be put on pause. And when the business paused, some of the systems supporting it paused too. I eventually transitioned away from OpenPhone, which made sense at the time.

Fast-forward to now.

The Genius Code is back.

We're preparing to take the program into school systems alongside Imagination to Income, which means I'm rebuilding the infrastructure around the business and getting the systems back in place.

Including the phone line.

So... back to Quo we go.

The Review Was Real Life

I also love that this particular video wasn't filmed under perfect conditions.

It was a very long travel day, and I was talking through my actual experience transitioning away from OpenPhone and ultimately deciding to go back. There wasn't a scripted "this product changed my life" moment.

It was much more practical than that. I had used it. I left it. I tried operating without it. And when I needed a business phone system again, I already knew what I liked about it. That's the kind of review I want to give.

Why I Like Having a Business Phone on My Personal Phone

One of the things I appreciated most about OpenPhone, and still appreciate about Quo, is the ability to have a dedicated business number without needing another physical phone. As someone who works across multiple businesses and projects, I don't want every business communication tied directly to my personal number. But I also don't want to carry five phones. Having a professional business line that I can access from the device I already have with me makes sense for the way I work. And as The Genius Code moves into its next phase, having that separation becomes even more important.

Full Circle

I think this is one of those small business moments that doesn't sound particularly exciting until you actually live it.

You build something.

You pause it.

You come back to it.

And suddenly you're rebuilding the systems you thought you were finished with.

That's where I am right now.

The Genius Code is coming back, we're preparing for schools, Imagination to Income is moving forward, and I'm putting the pieces back together around it.

Quo just happens to be one of those pieces I already know I like. And there's something pretty cool about my first paid YouTube sponsorship being connected to a company that was already part of my entrepreneurial journey.

So if you're watching the video, that's the real story behind it. Not just "Here's a product I'm being paid to promote."

It's "I used this when I was building, I moved away from it when the business paused, and now I'm coming back to it as the business starts moving again." That's a sponsorship I can get behind.
